The Saint George Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester is a beautiful location in which to tie the knot. Whether the wedding party is large or small, the space is all-encompassing and welcoming to everyone. Katya and George married on a chilly but bright and sunny day in January, with only their closest friends by their side. One of them spent the entire time ducked behind a podium to discreetly capture the precious moment on his camcorder! That’s the sign of a good friendship if you ask me. Their bigger ceremony is planned to take place later on this year, in Lebanon. It’s expected to be a huge party with a lot of family and friends!
The light was spilling through the windows just right as Katya made her way down the aisle. The stained glass windows made for a gorgeous color show, and she was absolutely stunning. Her dress, hair, makeup, and bouquet were all perfect! The combination of the church decorations and the details of her gown made the entire wedding seem ornate, but the closeness of everyone attending and the small size of the group kept it simple.
The traditional ceremony took place with great care and had everyone smiling. Rings were exchanged, incense was lit and a new union was created! I had an amazing time capturing this moment for these two! After having been together for ten years already, they seem to know exactly what they’re doing and how to make each other happy. George was camera shy at first, but with Katya’s encouragement and my directions, we got all the beautiful shots we hoped for!
We are sure their bigger ceremony will be a total blast, but we’re happy to have witnessed this little private event that felt so special to everyone. Sometimes a calmer environment makes the moment that much more special.
Congratulations to the happy newlyweds and best of luck in all your future endeavors!
