The Multicultural Arts Center of East Cambridge Massachusetts is a stunning wedding destination. This distinctive space is perfect for any occasion from weddings, bar mitzvahs, private parties, corporate and even non-profit events.

The building was originally designed in 1814 by renowned architect Charles Bulfinch, and erected in 1889, originally as a county courthouse. On the other hand, Graham Gund, a modern architect, renovated it as a performing arts center in 1985. After it has been restored, it not has a two-story theater space with an exquisitely embellished ceiling with a wraparound mezzanine balcony.

The Cambridge Multi Cultural Arts Center is different than your traditional Boston wedding hall. It offers a unique space – both indoor and outdoor options for your Multicultural Arts Center wedding ceremony.

I, personally, really love the Centanni Courtyard as an outdoor wedding space. It is an airy space surrounded by greenspace and quaint terraces, which you can opt to be decorated for your wedding ceremony. This place is perfect for ceremonies during the warmer months.

The Main Theatre is often used as a wedding reception space and is complete with a balcony and grand staircase for your reception entrance. It has extremely tall ceilings with Victorian embellishments, a walkway canopy that surrounds the room, and multiple large windows.

With the venues multiple art and historic background, your wedding day will surely be a special one filled with memories you’ll treasure forever.

The venue has site fees for both wedding receptions and ceremonies. On weekdays, the rental fee is $300/hr for non-wedding events, while on Fridays to Sundays, you can rent the place for $4,900 for 8 hours for wedding and other events.

Inclusions of the fee are 8 hours of rental time, including set up and clean up time. They charge an additional $50 if you prefer an outdoor ceremony. You can opt for additional hours for a fee of $100/hr.

The rental packages include use of the venue, a production staff members, basic lighting design, basic sound (CD or iPod, and up to 5 mics), 5 metal music stands and free wifi.

Other rental items such as linens, dish ware, cocktail tables and decoration of flowers must be rented through an outside vendor, since the Multicultural Arts Center does not provide these services.

A fun fact is that your rental fee helps support the Center’s mission, which is to educate the community about diversity through the presentation of multicultural arts programs, and to make the center available to artists and groups who may not otherwise have access to a professionally equipped space.
