Because Boston Chinatown is so small, most of the Chinese wedding banquet halls have easy walking access to the gate, bamboo gardens and rock garden. Though some may feel that Chinatown is a bit smelly and dingy, I do feel that with the right artificial light (hence why I never go anywhere without a lighting assistant), incredibly creative portraits can be created in the seemingly “yuckiest” of places. China Pearl has two floors – a 2nd floor and a 3rd floor. On the way up to the 2nd floor is a series of interesting mirrors. The next time I return, I have a pretty cool idea on how to photograph my couple with these reflective surfaces!
