Lindana and Long’s wedding day was one filled with cultural respect and family love. The morning started with a reverent Boston Vietnamese wedding tea ceremony in their home. Lindana and Long gave thanks to their elders by offering them tea. In return, their elders gave them their blessing for a long, happy and prosperous life together. The two exchanged rings, hugged many of their family members, and culminated the ceremony by presenting a delicious spread of Vietnamese food, enough for everyone to have take out boxes to go home with!
The couple had celebrated a Western/American ceremony the evening before. They had exchanged vows in front of their guest of honor – their dog, Rosae – during their sunset Beacon Hill rooftop wedding ceremony. We had a bit of a gap between the Vietnamese wedding ceremony and their Asian wedding banquet at Chau Chow City in Boston Chinatown, and so we met at the Boston waterfront for afternoon portraits with their bridal party. The arches at Christopher Columbus park make for beautiful wedding portrait backdrops!
During Lindana and Long’s Chau Chow wedding reception banquet, guests were greeted with unique details – a chalkboard welcoming them, a 6ftx7ft wall with handmade paper flowers, and of course, a bottle of Hennessy at every table. There were many emotional and exciting moments during the reception. Lindana and Long entered to rose petals being thrown at them! Long also made a beautiful speech to his new wife, asking her to be his, thanking her for everything that she’d done for him and expressing how excited he was to be spending the rest of his life with her.
