Some say that they were lucky. I think it was karma. Madeline and Adam had an incredible Larz Anderson Park Wedding.
I liked these two before I even met them. They both work in education. Adam, high school math, computer science and engineering teacher, and Madeline, an elementary school psychologist. Instead of traditional wedding favors, they donated to The Malala Fund. They’ve rescued two of the friendliest golden retrievers – Toby and Jake. Madeline seems to collect cool jewelry from places that she’s traveled to. The two of them share this passion of traveling, exploring, and being goofy along the way.
Even though I have back from Greece for a well, I’m still slightly jetlagged. It’s not awful, though. I sleep at 11pm and wake up at 7am, like a normal person! (Normally, I’m up WAY later than I should… usually editing or YouTubing silly dog videos.) I woke up earlier than my alarm and did my normal pre-wedding routine of packing snacks, applying extra deodorant, and triple checking all of my gear that I packed the night before. In the middle of double checking my flash modifiers, my phone erupted in furious rage. ALERT – Severe weather! Tornadoes and flash flooding. Yikes. Oh, and their ceremony was an outdoor Larz Anderson Park Wedding without a rain plan. Well, we did have a rain plan: umbrellas. 🙂
It’s Boston. I’m prepared for rain, snow, drought, and a heatwave all in one day. I have everything I need in my car. I finish packing my snacks and head off. I meet Madeline and Sarah at their salon. The two have been friends since birth because their mothers are also best friends! As usual, the weather turns quickly. It stops raining by the time Madeline and Sarah are beautified by the ladies at La Beautique Salon.
I loved how much effort Adam and Madeline put into their Larz Anderson Park Wedding Ceremony. Sarah’s fiance operated the music for the processional and recessional. Sarah and Adam’s brother, Matt, walked Toby and Jake down the aisle. There was beautiful cloud cover and even a little sun peeking out. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Tornado, thanks for staying out of Boston. 🙂
Their evening ended with a beautiful wedding dinner at The Farmhouse in Needham, MA where Sarah, Matt, and Madeline’s father gave heartfelt speeches.
Madeline and Adam, I had an awesome time at your wedding. Thanks for having me. Enjoy Sri Lanka! 🙂

Dinner at the Kowloon
Weddings are events of celebration and happiness. You surround yourself with the people you love to mark the start of a new chapter in your life – and it’s a party!
Wendy and Jon completely nailed it! When I took these pictures, they had actually already gotten married. In Aruba. Doesn’t that sound perfect? After a beautiful time with their closest family and friends, they came back up to Boston to continue celebrating. That’s where we came in to document all of it!
Over 300 people, all family and friends, gathered at the Kowloon restaurant in Saugus. The venue is almost entirely red, with amazing light fixtures and an open layout. It’s very visually appealing and makes for great shots. Photographing this event was so much fun. Not only were Wendy and Jon fantastic hosts who made sure to interact with everyone – they also know how to throw a party.
There was lots of laughter, dancing and beer. And so much food!
A beautiful Royal Sonesta Hotel wedding
Karen and Kevin’s Royal Sonesta Hotel wedding took place on a beautiful summer night by the water. The day was in fact a celebration of two events; it was not only the day of Karen and Kevin’s holy matrimony but also Kevin’s birthday. This made the excitement that much greater and the celebration that much sweeter. The two couldn’t have picked a more perfect day or more beautiful location.
Karen and Kevin come from very different backgrounds and in fact grew up in two separate countries, which is part of what makes them such a unique and interesting couple. They both embrace their differences and are constantly learning from one another. Their bond has been strengthened by their travels together, such as their very first trip together to Miami, or their first road trip together to Montreal. Kevin sealed the deal when he visited Karen’s family for 3 weeks where he lost money to the family playing cards and helped Karen’s mother fix the TV. They are both lead very active lifestyles, though in different ways (Karen loves dancing and going to the gym while Kevin prefers cycling and jiu-jitsu).
We started the day with Karen as she got her hair and makeup done by Special Event Beauty. She looked absolutely stunning even before she slipped into her form-fitting and elegant lace dress. When finishing getting dressed, Karen’s mother was sure to be the one to fix the veil to her daughter’s beautifully curled hair. The adoration she has for her daughter was clear in her actions, like when she delicately adjusted the lacy headpiece or when she just watched with a soft smile as Karen posed for picture after picture in the sunlight by the window.
When getting ready to walk out the door for first-look, Karen discovered that she could see Kevin standing by the water outside her window. Never have I seen a smile come to someone’s face so quickly. As she covered her mouth and laughed, she waved over her mom, sisters, and niece to see her husband-to-be waiting for her. They took a moment to watch him and chatter before ushering Karen out the door and onto the first look. Even in heels, Karen was quick to make her way outside and to her fiancé’s location.
There was no doubt that Kevin and Karen have an intense chemistry and love to be around each other. From their first look on, the two took every chance to kiss, both on and off the camera. The two just couldn’t stay apart once they were brought together. After sharing several moments together, Karen broke from Kevin to retrieve his birthday gift. She helped him open the small blue bag and gifted him a pair of cufflinks!
It was clear from the beginning that the two like to do things their own way, and aren’t bound by what’s expected. The ceremony was intimate and unplugged, the officiant made off-script jokes, and the couple even decided to bring some chairs up to the front so they could sit down. The atmosphere was light and fun, not stiff and serious like so many ceremonies are. There was no shortage of laughter, especially as the guests threw flower petals at the newly married couple as they walked down the aisle.
The reception was basically a dance party. Immediately after some humorous speeches in both English and Spanish, the dance floor opened and the celebrating really began. Due to the couple’s mixed backgrounds, the song selection was a mod podge of popular English jams, energetic Latin ditties, and Spanish renditions of English hits. The floor was full, and seemingly everyone was a grade A dancer. The energy never dropped, and party went well into the night.
Karen and Kevin were incredibly fun to work with and definitely knew how to throw a proper celebration. I wish them all the best as they venture together through their marriage!

A Perfect Alden Castle Wedding
It’s hard to believe it’s already almost April. Time seems to be flying by so quickly that it feels important to take some time to remember the important things that have already happened this year. On that note, let me tell you about how 2018 started for us!
Kelly and Justin have been together for years and are the best of friends. They love going to the beach, hanging out with friends and going on adventures. Really, they would be happy doing anything as long they’re together!
After years of romance they decided to get married and they wanted it to be a party to remember. What better date to choose than New Year’s Eve! Friends and family gathered at the Alden Castle in Brookline for the beautiful ceremony and reception. Everyone wore lots of gold, sparkles and sequins! Kelly looked absolutely stunning in her dress that truly seemed like the perfect fit for a New Year’s wedding. People danced like crazy while waiting for midnight! Closing off 2017 wasn’t just fun because of the party, but also because I was doing what I love most.
Thank you Kelly and Justin for the great time and we wish you all the best for many years to come!
Earlier this year I had the chance to photograph an amazing group of women who work in the same industry as me – weddings! The O Luxe Design team is who you need to contact regarding all high end floral arrangements for your event. They are professional, kind, and attentive to detail. They are guaranteed to blow you away with their talent.
The Boston Flower Exchange Inc. in Chelsea, was the perfect place to showcase this amazing group in their natural environment. The flower market not only smelled wonderful, it also had all the props we needed! Erica, the head of the team, is an amazing woman and I always look forward to working with her. The O luxe Design team knows exactly what they are doing to make every client happy!
